I started teaching the day after I graduated from college. I was 22 years old. So since then, by day, I’m Ms. G-the responsible, caring, fairly zealous, often strict and always a little ridiculous uber-teacher.

But most of the time, I’m Emma. I’m kind of a pop culture fiend. I love music, movies, tv and of course, the internet. I like reading, baking, cooking and being crafty. When I hang out with my friends, trouble and/or randomness usually ensues.

I love sports, in particular the San Diego Chargers and Padres. I generally spend most of football season yelling at my TV, keeping up with my fantasy football team and handling the other teams in my league. Yes, not only do I play fantasy football, I’m the commissioner of my own league. Because I’m the ringleader and organized and helpful and can be trusted with passwords and will fix your team at 9am on Sunday morning. But mostly because I like the power and I’m bossy. Yes, it’s like that.

I’ve been coerced into joining fantasy basketball and fantasy baseball teams. Aside from tequila shots and dirty dancing on occasion, these are pretty much my only vices.

You will not find me on Facebook because I like being a ninja. And my parents are on it. And my students and their parents are on it. And my coworkers are on it. And my whole gigantic family is on it. And of course, all of my friends are on it. They are all very nosy and have iphones so they check their fbs all day long. Plus, I’ve held out so long that I can’t possibly cave in without losing my cred.

Therefore, I blog. Welcome to my world. Enjoy.
